Watts New at the Pump?
New Electronic HID Ballasts Saving Energy at the gas Station
Fuel efficient cars apparently are not the only way to save energy at the pump. We recently completed an energy efficient lighting upgrade project at a gas station using electronic HID "smart ballasts" from Metrolight and the results look very promising.
Electronic HID not only allowed us to go from 357 input watts down to 269, it also lets us dim the lights down another 50% to 135 watts during the middle of the night. The first 2 months of electricity bills have confirmed the anticipated savings are being realized and they are substantial!

- Substantial energy savings
- Reduced maintenance costs
I think electronic HID is going to be a winner!
