I've been noticing those little square blob things appearing more and more frequently so I thought maybe I should figure out what they are before I'm the last one to know. When you are more "mature" like I am you need to protect your coolness image by understanding these kind of things that seem so commonly understood by those less "mature" people you work with...you know the ones that can type faster with 2 thumbs on a keyboard the size of a postage stamp than you can with all your fingers on the full-size ergonomic model that takes up 1/2 your desktop? I think I beat them back where they belong today!

I have dabbled a little in QR Codes and I put an "app" for them on my iPhone a while ago just so I could say "yes, of course" if someone asked me about them. Today one of those people I work with who is younger than all my own children showed me a QR code that I thought was spectacular. It was on the edge of a lighting catalog and scanning it gave you easy to use access to all the products in the catalog from your iPhone...I was even able to e-mail spec sheets! Think about that...you're having lunch and someone asks you what LED fixture you recommend and you e-mail them the spec sheet while you are still talking about it using the phone that fits in your pocket!

So I was inspired to fiddle around with my iPhone QR Code app and actually figured out how to create my own while the youngster was lurking behind me looking over my shoulder trying to get free tech-tips.
