North Coast Electric Company

Caledonian Alloys is a world leader in the manufacture and recycling of sophisticated alloys. Their facility is a typical foundry type structure with lots of concrete, dark surfaces and few windows. Light levels were not meeting their needs so their electrician invited our North Coast Energy Solutions Team to audit the site and propose a solution.

With light level improvement, energy efficiency and budget in mind we developed and proposed a fluorescent upgrade to include occupancy sensors, high-performance lamps, ballasts, and 4 and 6 lamp fixtures. Professional installation by Electric Works insured proper fixture placement for both light distribution and protection from the hazardous industrial environment. The results were “like night and day.”

• Avg foot candles went from 22 to 55
• 192,290 annual kWh savings
• 1.2 year payback after rebates and tax benefits
• 82% Return on Investment
